ABOUT

I’m David LaBruyere, 2D video game music composer / bass player in Nashville, TN., best known for my work as a session musician and with John Mayer.
I was born in New Orleans, started Suzuki method violin at age 3, followed by flute, drum and guitar lessons, recorded the original song demos on my first band in the summer between 5th and 6th grade, played in local bands through high school which is when I discovered that bass guitar is my natural primary instrument, landed a spot as a house musician / coffee maker / toilet cleaner at a small studio when I was 18, spent the next 30-something years working with musical artist, playing on records, writing / producing small projects along the way and spent a decade working with John Mayer from the beginning of his career.
My first video game music / sound design job began as a one-off audio production gig for an indy hyper-casual game developer in 2022. We’ve since completed several games together and have six games scheduled for completion throughout 2023.
